Basic Life Support Health and Wellness Childbirth Education Support Groups
| Safe Sitter® Clinic - Fee; limited class size | For boys & girls, 11-13, learn how to handle unexpected situations that might arise in caring for young children:
- Learn the business aspect of babysitting
- Receive information on child development
- Practice basic lifesaving techniques

| Heartsaver First Aid - Fee, limited class size | | American Heart Association program teaches rescuers the knowledge and psychomotor skills they need to recognize emergencies at the worksite and render first aid. Emphasizes accident prevention and preparing participants to provide temporary assistance until medical help arrives. Recommended for layperson requiring a credential. Group classes available for businesses and organizations. |
| Heartsaver CPR - Fee, limited class size | | American Heart Association program. Recommended for lay responders, (e.g., police, firefighters, security personnel, lifeguards, office workers, day care workers), who require a credential. |
| Heartsaver CPR in Schools - Book Fee. | | Program designed to teach adult lay rescuer CPR to middle or high school students. The course presents information about the American Heart Association’s adult Chain of Survival and signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke, and choking in adults. |
| CPR For Family and Friends - Fee, limited class size | | Program targets lay rescuers, such as school-aged children, family members of patients at risk for sudden cardiac death, and other laypersons who want to learn rescue skills for loved ones. Teaches rescuer skills in CPR, and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. |
| Basic Life Support For Health Care Providers - Fee, limited class size | | Designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of any age; includes breathing with barrier devices and bag-mask ventilation, use of an automated external defibrillator, and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. This course is a prerequisite for American Heart Association advanced courses in resuscitation, including ACLS, PALS, and BLS instructor courses. Basic: 6 hour class; Renewal (2 yr) 3 hour class. Course completion card (credential). |
| BLS Instructor Course - Fee, limited class size | Two-day course. Trains new instructors how to provide guidance, support, and structure to enhance the learning process of the participant. Focus is on the needs of the learner with particular attention to the core skills of BLS. Trainer will also monitor instructor’s first conducted BLS. (Renewal; 8 hour class.) |
| Blood Pressure Clinics - Free & open to public | | Rolla Apartments; first Tuesday of the month from 8:15 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. |
| Tobacco Cessation Clinic - Fee & Minimum Class Size Required | Seven week class at PCRMC for those committed to stopping tobacco/nicotine use. The program will help:
- Identify nicotine cravings and triggers
- Modify behavior patterns
- Set realistic goals for tobacco cessation
- Provide information on nutrition needs

| Eight Weeks to Wellness - Fee and Minimum Class Size Required | | PCRMC program promoting a multi-faceted lifestyle that can be maintained for a lifetime. Weekly presentations reinforce and support lasting and informed lifestyle behaviors. |
| ChildbirthEducation - Times and Locations available upon request | | Childbirth class, Newborn Care, and Infant Child Care and Safety classes are available. Please call (573) 458-7691 for more information. |
| Support Groups - Call for times and locations | | Monthly meetings for individuals with diabetes, Alzheimer's, or Parkinson's and/or their family or caregivers. All meetings are free and open. |
| Cancer Support Group - Please call (573) 458-7502 for more information | | Two groups available: one for cancer patients and another for their family, caregivers or anyone else touched by cancer. |
| Diabetes Support Group - First Saturday of every month. 10 AM - 12 Noon. Educational Services Dept. North Addition. | | A different topic is discussed monthly and participants are encouraged to take part in the open forums. |
