RehabCare
The RehabCare Center at PCRMC is a 30-bed unit dedicated to patients recovering from strokes, amputations, brain and spinal cord injuries, orthopedic procedures (such as total hip and knee replacements) and other dehabilitating conditions.
The primary mission of the RehabCare Center's staff is to help patients relearn the basic skills that will allow them to return to independent living and working environments. A professional team of physicians, nurses and therapists work together to create an individualized treatment plan for each patient.
The Medical Director, Dr. Matthew Rieth, is specially trained in rehabilitation and physical medicine and directs the medical treatment and rehabilitation program for each patient.
Rehabilitation Nurses are specially trained to monitor individual care around-the-clock and help to encourage self-care and attention to personal hygiene.
Physical Therapists develop treatment plans that develop strength and mobility. Special exercises and other activities are designed to build confidence, strengthen muscles and improve endurance and coordination.
Occupational Therapists challenge patients to perform the simple tasks of everyday living -- cooking, eating, dressing -- through individually designed exercises, activities and the use of specialized equipment.
Speech Pathologists provide individual therapy programs to treat memory, language, speech or hearing disorders that interfere with the ability to communicate.
Our Social Workers help patients and their families with discharge planning and counseling to ensure a smooth transition from the rehabilitation unit to your home.
